If you&#8217;re in the second situation (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/bitsacard.com\/blog\/en\/skimming-what-it-is-and-how-to-avoid-card-cloning-while-traveling\"><b>or you&#8217;ve just spotted a transaction in your history that you don&#8217;t recognise<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) you don&#8217;t need to call anyone or wait on hold. From the app, you can act immediately and stay in full control of what happens to your card.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What you can do depends on the situation. Here are all the options and when to use each one.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>The first thing you should do: block your card<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you&#8217;ve lost your card, it&#8217;s been stolen, or you&#8217;ve just seen a charge you don&#8217;t recognise, the first step is to <\/span><b>block it<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Blocking <\/span><b>stops any new payments<\/b> <b>instantly<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Your balance stays untouched.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To do it: open the app, select the card and tap the Settings icon. You&#8217;ll find the &#8220;Block&#8221; option there.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The card becomes inactive for as long as it&#8217;s blocked. If you find it again or work out what happened, <\/span><b>you can unblock<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> it the same way and everything goes back to normal.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-21055 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/bitsacard.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/bitsa_block-card_first-step.png\" alt=\"bitsa_block-card_first-step\" width=\"900\" height=\"460\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bitsacard.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/bitsa_block-card_first-step.png 900w, https:\/\/bitsacard.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/bitsa_block-card_first-step-300x153.png 300w, https:\/\/bitsacard.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/bitsa_block-card_first-step-768x393.png 768w, https:\/\/bitsacard.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/bitsa_block-card_first-step-700x358.png 700w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><b>Options available from the app depending on your situation<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once the card is blocked, you need to decide what to do next<\/span><b>. <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/bitsacard.com\/blog\/en\/guide-how-to-avoid-scams-and-fraud-in-2026\"><b>Not every situation is the same<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: losing your physical card is different from spotting a suspicious charge on your virtual card, or having a card that got damaged on a trip.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Each case calls for a different response, and the app has an option for each one. Before you act, it&#8217;s worth figuring out which situation you&#8217;re actually in.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Replace the card<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><b>If the card is permanently lost<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, has been compromised, or has physical damage that makes it unusable,<\/span><b> the replace option generates a new card<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with a different number. The old one is deactivated automatically and you don&#8217;t lose any of your funds.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To do it: go into the card, tap Settings and select &#8220;Replace&#8221;. The card keeps working normally (you can still pay with it) but it won&#8217;t appear in the main view and won&#8217;t show any income or spending unless you go specifically to the hidden cards section, found in your profile under privacy settings.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To do it: go to &#8220;My cards&#8221;, tap Settings and select &#8220;Hide&#8221;. Keep in mind this option is only available if you have more than one active card on your account. If you only have one, hiding it isn&#8217;t possible.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Change the alias<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When you have more than one card, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/bitsacard.com\/blog\/en\/how-to-protect-your-money-with-bitsa-prepaid-cards\"><b>giving each one a name<\/b><\/a> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">saves a lot of confusion. You can call it whatever you like and change the name whenever it makes sense \u2014 after replacing a card, for example, or when you start using it for something different.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To do it: go to &#8220;My cards&#8221;, tap Settings and select &#8220;Change alias&#8221;.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Delete the card<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Deleting a card <\/span><b>removes it from your account permanently<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the card number is cancelled and cannot be recovered. The transaction history linked to that card also disappears for good.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What doesn&#8217;t disappear is your money. In that case, you&#8217;ll need to use the replace option instead.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To do it: select the card, tap Settings and choose &#8220;Delete&#8221;.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>If you spot a charge you don&#8217;t recognise<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Not every unfamiliar charge means fraud. A lot of subscriptions and online services show up in your history under the name of the payment processor, not the shop where you actually bought something. Before jumping to conclusions,<\/span><b> block the card <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">so nothing else goes through and take a proper look at the history.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If the charge still doesn&#8217;t add up after reviewing it,<\/span><b> get in touch with Bitsa support<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> at <\/span><b>support@bitsacard.com<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Because it&#8217;s a prepaid card, any fraudulent charge is limited to whatever balance you had at the time \u2014 there&#8217;s no access to any other funds.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A lost card or an unrecognised charge is a problem you can usually sort out without leaving the app. Block it, figure out what happened, and decide on the next step: replace, hide, change the alias, or delete.
